How does the journalist use written language to appeal to the target audience?

The Journalist uses written language to appeal to the target audience by using different language techniques such as using made up words such as “Mozzerable” and “Mozness” referring to Morrissey as “His Holiness” and making him out to be a god of music. The tone of the article is nostalgic and is aimed at people who were at the gig; this is shown in how the article is mainly pictures with a few lines telling the story of each image, to share how the writer saw the gig so that the reader can compare it to their own experiences of the gig.
A quote is used to show how hectic the gig was where Andy Rourke gave the writer his bass and said “Here, you can have it, Kevin, it’s yours” using his own story to trigger a reaction from the readers
